Modern Slavery Statement
Chelsea Movers Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps Chelsea Movers has taken, and is continuing to take, to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business operations and supply chains. Chelsea Movers is committed to conducting all of its activities with integrity, transparency, and respect for human rights.
Our Zero-Tolerance Approach to Modern Slavery
Chelsea Movers has a zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and child labour. We are dedicated to ensuring that every aspect of our business is free from exploitation and that all individuals working within our operations and supply chains are treated fairly, with dignity and respect.
This commitment applies to all employees, agency workers, contractors, sub-contractors, and suppliers. We will not knowingly engage with any party that is involved in, or complicit with, modern slavery or human trafficking. Where credible concerns arise, Chelsea Movers will act promptly, including terminating relationships where necessary and appropriate.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Chelsea Movers provides professional moving and relocation services. Our supply chain includes providers of vehicles, fuel, equipment, storage facilities, packaging materials, and labour services. We recognise that certain segments of the logistics, warehousing, and labour supply sectors can be vulnerable to modern slavery risks, and we therefore apply enhanced scrutiny in these areas.
We expect all suppliers and business partners to uphold equivalent standards to our own and to comply with all applicable modern slavery and human rights legislation.
Supplier Standards and Audits
To uphold our zero-tolerance stance, Chelsea Movers has established clear expectations for suppliers and conducts proportionate due diligence and audits. Our approach includes:
Requiring suppliers and contractors to confirm that they do not engage in modern slavery or human trafficking and that they comply with relevant laws and regulations relating to labour and human rights.
Including modern slavery and ethical conduct clauses in supplier and contractor terms wherever appropriate, setting out our expectations and the consequences of non-compliance.
Undertaking risk-based supplier assessments and audits, focusing on higher-risk categories such as labour providers, warehousing, and overseas manufacturers of equipment and materials.
Reviewing supplier responses and audit findings and taking corrective action where issues are identified, which may include improvement plans, closer monitoring, suspension, or termination of the relationship.
We are committed to continuously improving our supplier due diligence processes and increasing the visibility of labour and employment practices within our supply chains.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing
Chelsea Movers encourages a culture of openness and accountability. We want all workers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to feel able to raise concerns about any issue related to modern slavery or unethical labour practices.
Concerns may be raised confidentially through internal reporting channels available to staff, including through direct line management or senior management. Suppliers and third parties are encouraged to report any suspected incidents of modern slavery or human trafficking to the appropriate senior contact within Chelsea Movers or via established contract management routes.
All reports will be taken seriously, handled sensitively, and investigated promptly. We will not tolerate any form of victimisation or retaliation against individuals who raise concerns in good faith, whether those concerns are proven or not.
Training and Awareness
Chelsea Movers recognises that raising awareness is essential to preventing modern slavery. Relevant employees, particularly those involved in procurement, supplier management, and recruitment, are provided with guidance on identifying potential indicators of modern slavery and on how to escalate concerns appropriately.
We will continue to review our training and awareness activities to ensure they remain effective and proportionate to the risks we face as our business develops.
Monitoring, Governance and Annual Review
Responsibility for the oversight of this Modern Slavery Statement rests with the senior management of Chelsea Movers. We monitor the effectiveness of our actions through periodic reviews of our supplier assessments, audit findings, and any reported concerns.
This Statement is reviewed at least annually to reflect changes in legislation, evolving best practice, and developments in our business and supply chains. As part of this review, we assess the adequacy of our controls, identify areas for improvement, and update our policies, procedures, and training where necessary.
By maintaining robust governance, promoting transparency, and working collaboratively with our staff, suppliers, and partners, Chelsea Movers aims to continually strengthen its efforts to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in all aspects of its operations.
